La Crosse County is celebrating 175 years this year. As part of the celebration, they're having an Art Competition. One of the categories is Photography. The competition is open to all ages.
There are several themes they're looking for:
-175 Years of La Crosse County – Historic landmarks, events, or people
-Our Natural Beauty – Mississippi River, bluffs, wildlife
-Community & Culture – Traditions, diversity, local life
-Looking Ahead – Imagine the next 175 years
Competition Details
La Crosse County turns 175 years old in 2026, and we’re inviting the community to celebrate through art. This competition is your chance to showcase creativity while honoring our county’s past, present, and future.
-Entry Deadline: Thursday, April 30, 2026, by 5 p.m.
-Submission Location: Bring art and your contact details to the La Crosse County Administrative Center Reception Desk (212 6th Street N, La Crosse)
-Requirements: All artwork must be ready to display (framed or with hanging hardware; sculptures must be stable for exhibition).
-Entry Limit: 1–2 pieces per participant.
Judging
Entries will be evaluated by a panel of local judges.
Criteria: Creativity, originality, connection to theme, technical skill, and overall impact.
Awards:
1st Place: $500, 2nd Place: $300, 3rd Place: $200 + Honorable Mentions
There's also social media mentions and the artwork exhibition in the County Admin Building in July.
